You have found Tim Jay's home page. NewsI am a lecturer in the Psychology of Education at the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol. I am currently working on a couple of research projects - one looking at the relationship between children's in- and out-of-school mathematics learning and one looking at links between children's knowledge of relationships amongst numbers and their choice of strategies for solving simple arithmetic problems. This involves using a semantic priming paradigm to explore children's implicit associations amongst number concepts. I am also thinking about interdisciplinary theory for looking at children's learning of mathematics. Some writing related to this can be found on my blog.
